Meanwhile

These terms cover your purchase and use of Meanwhile, a macOS application made and sold by Ngoc Hien Dinh, an individual software developer based in Vietnam ("I", "me"). By installing or using Meanwhile, you agree to them. If you do not, do not install it — and if you have already paid, ask for a refund under the policy below.

The trial

Meanwhile runs for 14 days with every feature working. It asks for no payment, no account and no email address to do so. After 14 days, the app stops covering your screen until you activate a licence; it remains installed and can be removed at any time from its menu.

Your licence

When you pay the one-time fee of nineteen US dollars ($19), you receive a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Meanwhile on any Mac you own or control, for personal or commercial work. There is no subscription and no recurring charge.

You may not resell, redistribute, rent or sublicense the app, share your licence key publicly, or remove or circumvent its licensing.

Refunds

Fourteen days, no questions asked. If you want your money back within 14 days of purchase, email hiendinhngoc@gmail.com and you will get it. You do not have to explain why.

Refunds are issued through Lemon Squeezy back to the original payment method, and normally appear within five to ten business days depending on your bank. Once refunded, your licence is deactivated and you should remove the app. Beyond 14 days I will still read your email and will use my judgement, but the guarantee above is what I commit to.

Because there is a full 14-day trial before any payment, you can find out whether Meanwhile is worth it without spending anything.

Payment and taxes

Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record for the sale. Lemon Squeezy handles payment, invoicing and any sales tax or VAT due in your country, and their terms apply to the transaction itself.

Updates

Your licence covers the version you buy and any updates I choose to release. Meanwhile has no auto-updater and makes no update checks, so new versions are downloaded from this site when you want them. I do not promise a particular update schedule, or that any specific feature will be added.

What Meanwhile depends on

Meanwhile works with Claude Code, a product of Anthropic, and requires macOS 14 or later. I am not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Anthropic or Lemon Squeezy. Meanwhile reads Claude Code's local transcript format and installs hooks in Claude Code's settings file; those belong to Anthropic and may change at any time, which could break features until I release a fix. Activating your licence requires Lemon Squeezy's API to be reachable. If an activation attempt fails, you can explicitly retry it.

No warranty

Meanwhile is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. I do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Meanwhile covers your screen while your agent works. It is not a security product, a lock screen or a parental control, and it must not be relied on to protect or conceal anything.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, my total liability arising out of or relating to Meanwhile is limited to the amount you actually paid for it. I am not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost time or lost data.

Nothing in these terms limits any consumer rights you have under the law of your own country that cannot lawfully be limited.

Ending the licence

You may stop using Meanwhile at any time by choosing Remove Claude Code hooks… from its menu, which takes its hooks back out of your Claude Code settings, and then deleting the app. Your licence ends if you materially breach these terms, for example by redistributing the app or sharing your key publicly.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of Vietnam have jurisdiction — except where the mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings there.

Changes

If these terms change, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top. Changes apply to purchases made after they are posted; the terms in force when you bought continue to govern that purchase.
